Articles About Entertaiment
Something affording pleasure, diversion, or amusement: A ball is an entertaining affair.
Entertaining takes many forms, and can range from an agreeable occupation of the mind, such as solving a crossword puzzle, to the more dramatic, such as a performance. Increasingly, entertainment is provided for large audiences and can include any number of social activities. The word derives from the Latin intertenere, meaning “to hold inside.” Entertainment has evolved to provide for all scales: from a private party adapted to two; to a banquet; to performances intended for thousands. The capacity of entertainment to cross over different media has ensured that certain themes and images remain familiar.
